The 16th and beyond

This week, in addition to our regular discussion and sharing, we will make self watering planters for the inattentive gardener, from plastic cold drink cups and burlap sacks that once held coffee beans, along with some composted coffee grounds and plants to grow in 'em. The garbage needed for this project will be provided, so RSVP here to make sure I have trash ready for you.

The project is like this, but with plastic cups:

It is useful for adults but appropriate for children. I will also briefly explain capillary action and soil water potential, because college has done a lot to make me remember my 7th grade life science.

Feel free to share if you think of themes, ideas or projects for other weeks.
Thursday, we can decide what we will do the following Thursday. If nobody has any suggestions, it will be "Uses for industrial labels" and I will bring industrial labels to share and use.
Lady who makes hulahoops, this means you.
See you Thursday at 5.
